Roles
Understanding Organisation Roles
What are Roles?
When it comes to managing your Organisation Members there needs to be a tiered permissioning system to prevent malicious Members causing future issues.
In the Proximie Platform these are called Roles. Roles define the level of authority within an Organisation.
Roles are instantly assigned to Members when they are added to an Organisation. Initially, the added Member is granted the STANDARD role.
What are the Different types of Roles?
There are 3 main types of roles within Proximie Organisations.
Role | Description |
---|---|
SELF | Base role assigned to every User. It allows you to read your Profile and Update your profile. |
STANDARD | A basic Member of an Organisation with limited functionality. Members can Create Sessions but cannot read other Members profiles or Change Organisation Details. |
ADMIN | The Organisation Admin has the same STANDARD role along with ADMIN. They can add, read and update Members details, remove Sessions and update the Organisation details. They cannot remove the STANDARD role from a Member. |
Role Relationships
Members can be granted different Roles within the Organisation at the discretion of a Member with ADMIN role. This role will only be relevant for the Organisation it has been granted within.
User who is a Member of two Organisations
If a User is a Member of two Organisations, the Roles assigned to their respected Member profiles will only be valid for the Organisation they are granted within.
What can I do with the Different Roles?
Role | Capability |
